Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Desert", is located in the southern foothills of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco and is an important transit point to the Sahara Desert. The city is famous for its magnificent desert scenery, ancient castles and famous filming locations, where blockbusters such as "Gladiator" and "Game of Thrones" were filmed. The local village of Ait Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is very charming.
