Opening hours and tickets

The opening hours of Hall 1 and Hall 2 are usually 11:00-20:00. You can enter and exit freely without tickets. You can flexibly arrange your visit time according to your schedule. However, if there are special exhibitions or events in the hall, corresponding fees may be charged. It is recommended to check the official information before departure.

Transportation

Train

Take the Tokyu Toyoko Line from Shibuya Station and it will take about 40 minutes to arrive. The nearest stations are Bashamichi Station and Nihon Odori Station on the Minato Mirai Line. If you have a Japan Rail Pass, Sakuragicho Station and Kannai Station on the JR Line are good choices, and it is about a 15-minute walk from the station. It takes about 45 minutes to take the JR from Shinjuku Station to Sakuragicho Station, and a little over an hour from Tokyo Station. ​

Bus​

The warehouse has a parking lot, but parking spaces are relatively tight during the peak tourist season. Considering traffic congestion and parking difficulties, it is recommended to give priority to public transportation.

Architectural features​

Warehouse No. 1 is 76 meters high and covers an area of ​​5,575 square meters. It was built in 1899 and put into use in 1905; Warehouse No. 2 is 149 meters high and covers a total area of ​​10,775 square meters. It was completed in 1911. The exterior of the building has completely preserved the style of the Meiji and Taisho periods. The striking red brick exterior wall is matched with the iron-framed corridor, which is simple and elegant. There are also facilities such as Japan's earliest industrial elevator (now exhibited next to Hall 1), lightning rods, and fire hydrants on the back of the warehouse. The activity plaza often hosts various markets and outdoor celebrations. For example, from April 28 to May 7 every year, the "Yokohama Frühlings Fest" celebrating spring in Germany will be held here.
