History: The Museum's Past and Present

The Municipal Historical Museum's building itself is rich in history. Originally built in 1827 by the Borrell family, a wealthy merchant, the building was used as a private residence. The house changed hands and was bought by Justo Germán Cantero, a German banker who was not only wealthy, but also the owner of a local plantation.
