The Port Said Lighthouse, a jewel of the city, was erected in 1869. Standing at 56 meters high with an octagonal tower, it's an architectural wonder of the 19th century. Commissioned by Khedive Ismail, it was the world's first reinforced concrete building. While no longer guiding ships, it now attracts tourists for its historical charm.
