Hallasan Mountain is located on Jeju Island, South Korea. It is the highest mountain in South Korea, with an altitude of 1,950 meters. It is an extinct volcano with an east-west orientation. On the top of the mountain is the Baekroktan Lake, which was formed by a volcanic eruption. Hallasan Mountain has a vertical climate distribution and rich flora and fauna. It was designated as a national park in 1970 and has also been rated as a World Natural Heritage Site and a World Geopark.
