The Gardens of the Palace of Versailles are located to the west of the Palace of Versailles in France, covering an area of about 800 hectares. Designed by André Le Notre, it took more than 40 years to complete. The gardens are built in the style of a classic French formal garden, with flat lawns, exquisite flower beds, sculptures and fountains, as well as landscapes such as the Grand Canal. It is a model of French garden art and is listed on the World Cultural Heritage List together with the palace.
