Der Aa-Kerk

Der Aa-Kerk

Der Aa-Kerk is located in the center of Groningen and is a prominent landmark of the city's skyline. It was built in 1247 as a small chapel, and was later transformed and expanded into a Gothic brick church between 1425 and 1495. The church has a spacious interior, 76 meters long and 25 meters wide, and the tower is also 76 meters high. Today, it no longer holds regular religious ceremonies, but serves as a cultural venue, often hosting concerts, drama performances, exhibitions, etc. Here, you can feel its rich history and appreciate its unique architectural style.
