Der Aa-Kerk is located in the center of Groningen and is a prominent landmark of the city's skyline. It was built in 1247 as a small chapel, and was later transformed and expanded into a Gothic brick church between 1425 and 1495. The church has a spacious interior, 76 meters long and 25 meters wide, and the tower is also 76 meters high.
