Pico do Arieiro

Pico do Arieiro

Pico do Arieiro is the third highest peak of the Portuguese island of Madeira, at 1,818 meters above sea level, located in the middle of the island, about 30 kilometers from the capital Funchal. The summit can be reached directly by road and has a parking lot, restaurant and souvenir store for visitors. On a clear day, the summit offers a great view of the neighboring island of Porto Santo. The Areeiro Peak is also the starting point of the famous hiking route PR1 Vereda do Areeiro, which is about 7 kilometers long and passes through the Picudas Torres mountain and ends up at Picuruivo, the highest peak in Madeira, with magnificent views that attract many hikers along the way. The Areyiru peak is also a popular spot for sunrise, with breathtaking views of the sea of clouds in the morning sun. Whether you're a hiker or a photographer, the Areyiru Peak is a must-see natural attraction in Madeira.
