Ponta de São Lourenço is a nature reserve at the eastern end of Madeira, with a unique geological landscape and rich biodiversity. The hiking trail here, Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço (PR8), is about 6 kilometers long and offers magnificent views of the cliffs, coastline and the Atlantic Ocean along the way. This moderately difficult route usually takes between 2.5 and 3 hours to complete and is suitable for those who love natural landscapes and photography. Along the way, there are viewing platforms overlooking the entire peninsula and the surrounding sea, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching and observing marine ecology. In addition, visitors pay an entry fee of approximately €3 to support the maintenance and management of the reserve. Cape St. Lawrence is the perfect place to experience Madeira's untouched nature.
