Located in New York Harbour, the Statue of Liberty is a gift from France to the United States on the 100th anniversary of its independence. It is about 93 metres high and the goddess is dressed in ancient Greek robes, holding a torch in her right hand and the Declaration of Independence inscribed on the American Independence Day in her left hand, symbolising freedom and hope, and is an iconic symbol of the United States and the world.
