The Lacerda Elevator, located in Salvador, Brazil, connects the Upper City with the Lower City and is 72 m. Built between 1869 and 1873, it was initially a hydraulic elevator, but was converted to electric power in 1906. It consists of two towers, has four elevators, operates for 30 seconds at a time, carries 27 passengers, has a ticket price of R$0.15, transports more than 33,000 passengers per day, and has been classified as a Brazilian National Historic Heritage Site.
