Kedah is a state in Malaysia. Located at the northwest end of the Malay Peninsula, it covers an area of 9,425 square kilometers and has a population of over 2.19 million. Its capital is Alor Setar, the birthplace of the ancient Malay Kingdom and known as the "granary of northern Malaysia". Its tourism industry is also relatively developed, and the Langkawi Islands are a famous attraction.
