Bordeaux is located in the southwest of France, on the lower reaches of the Garonne River. Known as the "Port of the Moon", it is the capital of the Aquitaine-Poitou-Charentes-Limousin region and the capital of the Gironde department. It has a long history and was founded by the Celts around 300 BC. It is the world's wine center and its wines are famous all over the world. There are many attractions in the city, such as the Cathedral of Saint-André, which was built in the 11th century and Louis VII held his wedding here, and the Place de la Bourse, a magnificent 18th-century building complex.
