Brasilia is the capital of Brazil, located on the Goiás Plateau in central Brazil, 1,158 meters above sea level. The city was built between 1956 and 1960, designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer and urban planner Lucio Costa, and was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. Its urban layout is shaped like an airplane, with beautiful scenery, and its economy is dominated by the tertiary industry.
