Restoring the traditional village layout

Walking into the exhibition hall of the Heritage Village is like stepping into the long river of history. From ancient furniture, clothing to daily necessities, each artifact embodies the wisdom of our ancestors. In the Luray Valley Museum of the Cenduna Heritage Village, furniture, clothing, household items, etc. from the 18th century to the end of the 19th century are exhibited. Through these exhibits, you can have a deep understanding of the daily life of local residents. In some Heritage Villages with agriculture as the theme, the evolution from simple farm tools to complex farming machinery will be displayed, presenting the development process of agriculture, allowing people to feel the important position of agriculture in social development.

Some Heritage Villages in the United States hold activities such as the Pennsylvania Heritage Festival at specific times, during which there are Civil War camping, guided tours of historical buildings, living history demonstrations, wood carving demonstrations, children's games, etc. People wear traditional costumes and restore historical scenes. Visitors can immerse themselves in past life, participate in folk games, enjoy traditional dances and music performances, and gain a deep understanding of local culture. ​

Many Heritage Villages attach importance to educational functions and provide students with unique learning opportunities. For example, a Heritage Village in the United States launched the "Farm Days 1866" event. Based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's book "Farmer Boy", it allows 4th grade students to experience family life in 1866.
