Mount Fuji is located in the south-central part of Honshu Island, Japan, with an altitude of 3,776 meters (Ten-bone). It is the highest peak in Japan and one of the largest active volcanoes in the world. The mountain is conical in shape, with snow on the top all year round, and it spans Shizuoka Prefecture and Yamanashi Prefecture. In 2013, Mount Fuji was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
